Modifications
The E92 335i is still popular to this day due to all the avalabile aftermarket support. While many other cars need hundred of hours as well as thousands of dollars to reach horsepower numbers close to 500hp, the 335 does not need nearly as much. Many companies such as ECS Tuning as well as Mhd sell kits and packages that can take a stock 335 and turn it into a high preformance vehicle. Due to the forged internals of the N54 engine these cars can handle 500-600 hp without having to reinforce the internals of the engine. If the car was optioned with the M sport package it comes equiped with six-piston brembo brakes as well as a limited slip-differential.These are some of the many reasons people gravitate toward these cars for cheap power and speed.

The ease of acces to this kind of power made many people opt to buy the 335 instead of the M3 of the same year, which was the highest trim and most expensive model of the E92. Not only is there engine modifications but there is wide support for comsetic Modifications such as spoiler, wheels, and even M3 conversion kits which give the apearance of an M3 but the powerplant and interior of a 335. When BMW changed the engine to the N55 in 2009 they had removed the forged internals to save money as well as having only one turbo had many people dissapoointed because of the placed limits on the newer engine. The price for older 335's increased due to the older one having the N54. Though the N55 engine came standard with a DCT transmission which stands for Dual clutch transmission. This transmission was sought out because of the capability of faster and more aggressive shifting. In 2013 BMW released the 335is which took the market by storm because of it being equiped with the powerful N54 and the DCT transmission of the LCI.
